Deel and Remote are two of the most common choices for hiring abroad without your own company. Both list the same EOR starting price, so the real differences are in contractor pricing, how they're set up in each country, and how you like to buy. Here's how they compare, from each company's own pricing pages.
| Deel | Remote | |
|---|---|---|
| EOR price | From $599/mo per employee | From $599/mo per employee |
| EOR coverage | Full legal employment in 130+ countries (pricing page) | Hire in 90+ countries without a local entity |
| Contractor plan | From $49/mo per contractor | From $29/mo per contractor (Contractor Management) |
| Contractor of Record (they hold the contract) | From $325/mo | From $325/mo |
| Payroll for your own entity | Global Payroll available (price on request) | Global Payroll from $29/mo per employee |
| US hires (PEO) | From $125/mo per employee | From $99/mo per employee |
| Contract terms | Month-to-month, no long-term commitment required | No setup or onboarding fees; platform included |
| Philippines & Pakistan | Both listed, with EOR management fee from $599/mo | Both listed; Remote says it owns its own legal entity in each |

Deel: worth knowing
- Bigger country list for EOR (130+ on its pricing page).
- Month-to-month pricing, and you can cancel anytime (local notice and severance rules still apply).
- Contractor plan costs more than Remote's ($49 vs $29).
- Bundles extra tools such as recruiting, HR and equipment if you want one platform.
Remote: worth knowing
- Cheaper entry point for contractors ($29/mo).
- Says it owns its own entities rather than relying on third parties, including in the Philippines and Pakistan.
- Smaller EOR country list (90+).
- May ask for a refundable reserve payment in some cases; it says there's no standard deposit fee.
- Offers 15% off EOR and Contractor Management for the first 12 months to startups that raised pre-seed to Series A.
Who each is best for
- Pick Deel if you're hiring across many countries, want the widest EOR coverage, or want month-to-month flexibility with HR and recruiting tools in the same place.
- Pick Remote if you mainly need contractors (cheaper at $29/mo), care about the provider owning its own entity in your hiring country, or you're an early-stage startup that qualifies for the startup discount.
- For Philippines and Pakistan teams, both list the country and the same $599 EOR starting fee, so get a quote from each for your exact role and compare the total, not just the fee.
EOR or your own entity?
In the Philippines we set up and ran teams under several structures over the years, from a branch office to local corporations. Owning the entity gave us full control over contracts, benefits and how we grew, but it also meant registrations, accountants, payroll and compliance work every single month. An EOR swaps all of that for a per-person fee. For a first few hires, or to test a city, that trade is usually worth it. Once a team grows and you're sure you're staying, it's worth pricing out your own entity against the EOR fees.
