Who we are

Offshore Compass (offshorecompass.com). Questions or requests: hello@offshorecompass.com.

What we collect and why

• Visit analytics: The site is hosted on Lovable, whose built-in privacy-friendly analytics script counts page views, referring sites, device type and approximate country. It may use a short-lived first-party cookie or browser storage to group page views into a visit. We don't run advertising trackers or sell data.
• Security cookie: Our hosting network (Cloudflare) may set a strictly necessary cookie (__cf_bm) to filter bots. It expires within about 30 minutes and isn't used for tracking.
• Fonts: Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google when fetching them.
• Newsletter: If you sign up, we store your email address (and first name if you give it) and send it to Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider, to send the newsletter. Kit sends a confirmation email first (double opt-in). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
• Vendor submissions: If you submit a vendor on the Vendors page, we store the company name, website, contact name, contact email, category, cities and description to review the listing. We don't publish the contact name or email.
• Pay-data contributions: Our anonymous pay survey runs on Tally (tally.so). It asks for things like city, role, pay range and how recent the figure is, plus an optional email if you want the city pay report. We publish pay figures only as aggregate ranges, never individual answers, names or employers. If you give an email, we use it only to send you the report.
• Paid products: If we offer paid products, payment details are processed by the payment provider and are not stored by this site.

Affiliate links

Some links to providers may be affiliate links. When you click one, the provider may set its own cookies to credit the referral; their privacy policy applies on their site. See our Affiliate disclosure.

How long we keep data

Newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; vendor submissions as long as needed to review and maintain listings; survey answers in aggregate form.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email, block cookies in your browser, and email hello@offshorecompass.com to access, correct or delete your details.
