Sri Lanka has English-speaking finance, accounting and IT talent, concentrated in Colombo. Employing people directly means registering a company, then handling EPF (12% employer) and ETF (3% employer) contributions, income tax withholding and local labor rules. An EOR takes that on for a monthly fee per person. Here are four providers that list Sri Lanka, with starting prices from their own websites. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Who each is best for

  • Lowest listed fee: Skuad, from $199/mo.
  • Mid-priced with annual billing: Multiplier, from $459/mo (check the Sri Lanka price).
  • Big all-in-one platforms: Deel or Remote, both from $599/mo. Remote says it has its own entity in Sri Lanka and is cheaper for contractors.

Budget tip: the EOR fee sits on top of salary and the employer's EPF and ETF contributions. See the Colombo page for minimum wages and employer costs, or the Sri Lanka country guide.

Operator's note

EOR or your own entity?

For a first hire or a small team in a new country, an EOR is usually the faster, lower-risk way in: no company to register, no local payroll to run, and an easier exit if plans change. Your own entity starts to pay off once the team is stable and you're sure you're staying. In Sri Lanka, also ask each provider how they handle terminations under local law before you sign.
